the year's last day

A year's Last day

This is early morning on the last day
of this year, I'm struggling on the loo
to get rid of old crap, not wanting to
carry it into the new year
It is vital not to carry resentment
into a new year, with a clear conscience
leave the said and not meant to stew
In its own failure, let voices of disgust
sink or drown in the coming storm
We shall be ready to tackle real life
where everybody is a loser in our
reckless dance around the Maypole
