The Yearning
Yearning
As I stumble in the dark
Burning for a fire
That can ignite my spark
Stuck
Tongue-tied
Always searching
For a hand to be my guide
Watching
Always waiting for a strong arm
To lift me out of my complacency
Needing a kind word
Every now & then
Between the heart you'll find me
On bended knee
Rummaging through memories
Fallen too deep
So deep
No one can hear my pleas
For a loving deluge of smiling faces
Wanting to be remembered
Needing to be held
Afraid of being wanted
I pretend to dream
Hoping you won't see through my sins
And relentless screams.
