a.“so what do you do?” b. “you mean, what do i do in a day? how do i live? what i do for fun? what makes me happy? something like that?” a. “no, i mean what is your career, what is it that you do for money?” b. “ah. so you aren’t really interested in speaking at all, are you?” a. “what do you mean? all i did was ask you what your job was, how you made your living.” b. “made my living? i am living.” a. “well, yes, i understand that. you know what i’m talking about. jesus, don’t be so antagonistic. look, i was just trying to start conversation.” b. “ah. and the best way you thought to go about having a conversation with someone that you know absolutely nothing about was to ask them what they did to make money.” a. “look, whatever man. i was just trying to…” b. “trying to what?’ a. “i was just trying to get to know you, alright? that’s all.” b. “so, try again.”
