The Worth of Rice
Food is a daily need.
Some eat well, are fed well,
are taken care of,
while others have little,
or none.
It is what we do with what we have,
that is the difference between,
living and living well.
The quality of life,
ever the goal to be higher...
than expected of,
or made to.
To have a price,
un-payable...
except by Him,
who had no need of money,
and yet was betrayed for silver.
The sad seller in the transaction,
hanged in the bargain,
to live forever among "them",
in the dark.
Sacrifices have a thousand faces,
from time spent to cash lost.
Blood given, missed moments,
and abuse.
Loss, and grief, the brothers of regret,
in the end the mirror of our lives,
everything that was bought and sold,
that made a difference,
between the line of gray...
and the deep of black.
