The Worst of Me
The worst of me is lazy
Just wants to kick back
Sup on a beer
And forget the world
Feet up
Staring at the sky
With no thoughts at all
Drowsy and listless
And time a pointless
Peers from warm covers
A tiny window
To shirk all my responsibilities
Yup
That’s the worst of me
To live in millionaire socks
And be unconcerned by insubstantial problems
Just a loafing lackadaisical bear
Hibernating
On a laid back arm chair
While having time to think
And ponder
The floating dust motes
In a beam of light
Awake but sleeping
Surreptitiously day dreaming
For lazy hours
Instead of working
Just contentedly cat napping
While stretching out
On time spent
Unequivocally doing nothing
While the clock is intent
On sneakily kidnapping
The past and missing
Hours
