The Worst Kind of Impossible
Simply say
yes
It’s all you need to say
yes in agreement to anything
if anything can have an agreement to
it would be better to be
beyond a doubt
so just say yes
and although the molehills to the mountains
will not capitulate
but cease to struggle in the indeterminate whirlwind
they will at least have some sanctimonious repertoire
informing you they were right all along
So just say yes
and though the rankle of yes men
may make you flutter somewhere a little bit flunkies
please be filled with enthusiasm
yes
to make them feel good
yes-ing up the whitewash
it covers up those insufficiency
a simple yes is a potent remedy
and all is well
there is no mistake
there are no double-takes
Three little letters equal a one syllable word
yes
yes has more power contained within
than even such highly vaunted words such as love or sin
yes can change the world
but it won’t alter a single opinion
it will only reinforce them
So to that such sweet candy of the ears
we beg you dribble and relinquish
tell us exactly what we want to hear
something we can live with
that assurance a rectitude and perfect-itude
of all that we have done
something which please does not offend
but sits in the cosseted warmth of self-righteousness
Because if it is not
yes
there are surely going to be
consequences
