The world watches and waits

"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,"
Israel's war crimes, a brutal truth..
The statistics are glaring and growing more bleak.
One thousand Gaze an children killed every week..
Fathers in anguish, mothers drown in their tears,
their babies now gone before their first year..
Every fifteen minutes a child killed in their blast,
while one in four are starving now, some eating only grass.
For those that survive while in harms way, are losing
their limbs as the bombs splay.
12,000 innocents, undeserving of their fate,
while the rest of the world just watches and waits..

47% of Gaza's population are children.

Dear Nancy, the innocents always suffer the most and your eloquent verse reflects the cruel fate of those caught unwittingly in the crosshairs of war. Your last line reflects the chilling reality of the sad situation. Poignant, haunting poetry that sears the soul. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Dear Susan, What a pleasure it is to have you visit my page! I feel horrible for the Israeli people who are still waiting to hear news of the remaining hostages. The fate of these Gaze an children is so inhumane though. I pray that Netanyahu will move toward some cease fire and not continue with this heavy handed aggression which can't be helping the remaining hostages either. Blessings

Dear Nancy, this is a powerful reflection on the harsh realities of war and the devastating toll it takes on innocent lives. The stark image you've created, from the statistics of casualties to the heartbreaking anguish of parents losing their children, is deeply moving and thought-provoking. Your words compel us to confront the harsh truths of conflict and the urgent need for compassion and action in the face of such suffering. The stark contrast between the atrocities described and the world's passive observation highlights the moral imperative for change and justice. Your voice serves as a call to action on the importance of empathy, awareness, and advocacy in addressing global injustices. - Blessings, Daniel

Hi Daniel, I appreciate your compassionate thoughts on this horrific situation. The only thing I can do is pray although I did write the President and asked him to stop funding this Netanyahu genocide. It's all so tragic.

Because on October 7th Hammas didn't behead babies, rape women, and commit even more atrocias acts in Israel? Because Hammas, Hezbollah, and Iran haven't sworn to annihilate Jews from "the river to the sea?" War is abhorrent and it's a sad fact that the innocent suffer because of the deed of the guilty.

Dear Chetta, I am not minimizing in any way what happened on October 7th but this is definitely turned into an overkill and blood shed of the innocents and Netanyahu wants to prolong the conflict rather then face his own loss of power and face corruption charges that are impending.

As with any conflict it's always the innocent who suffer the most. We see it in Gaza and Ukraine happening every day. It's an evil world we live in right now Tom
