The World Was Ours

Years ago, we sat at the picnic table, near the beach Our lives came together, as we talked for hours An understanding bloomed from dark things we knew A bright connection began with immediate strength - In that time, it seemed the world was ours - We flew from there, wings flapping, a team in flight Until, you were suddenly taken out of the sky - And I fell at your grave - Heidi Sands 6/12/18

A Fave for me too, Heidi. You reminded me of how I felt when I lost my husband. Suddenly, you fly solo and seem to have lost that sense of direction you had earlier. Beautiful! Hugs, Carolyn

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. Yes, it is a drastic change in life. I remember at first, I felt like my strength died too. Take care. Thank you for your kindness :)

What's the cliche? "Nothing lasts forever" Life is always bittersweet, is it not? Sad write Heidi.
