The World Unknown

Today the world is a place far unknown.
It’s not like it was before we were grown.
Now it’s all about power and control,
Our empathy has faded and our hearts drew cold.
We’re now consumed by greed and material wealth,
Putting love and kindness on the backshelf.
The world has become a place of hate,
Where fear and anger dominate our fate.
We need to break free of these binding chains,
And relay compassion where more is gained.
For in the end, it’s not power or fame
that brings us joy, though some may claim,
But instead, it's love.
Love to give and love to obtain.
