The World Through My Eyes

When I look at the mirror
There is a reflection steering back at me
A shadow that looks very much like me
I see a frown a woman without a gown
A life of strife a woman who avoid the knife
I still cannot believe that woman was me.

Woman of sorrow a woman unable to borrow
Yet God gave me tomorrow
He showed me the way
He taught me how to obey
He has given me another day to find a way,
To repay for all the deeds that led me astray
I thank the Lord for showing me how to pray.

Dear Patricia, I love this poem. It's the way I see the world also. Tradition has left to many families this day and time.
