The World Speaks Back
Across this world of broken lands,
Where silence waits in folded hands,
A thousand voices rise to say,
“We too, deserve a brighter day.”
A girl from hills of mist and rain,
Speaks softly of her people’s pain.
Her songs are stitched with ancient light;
She sings for justice, sings for right.
A boy whose home was lost to war,
Still keeps a key though there’s no door.
His dreams, though cracked by smoke and fear,
Cry, “Peace must walk beside us here.”
A mother praying through the night,
A poet turning grief to fight,
A youth who paints the streets with hope,
Together they learn how to cope.
Their voices blend, one rising plea:
“Let every human spirit be
Unbound by chains, untouched by hate
Let dignity decide our fate.”
And as their words climb high and true,
The skies turn softer, washed anew.
For peace begins, as all things do,
In voices brave enough to speak for you.
I speak, you speak, the world speaks back,
A chorus breaking through the crack,
Of centuries wrapped in silent pain,
Now calling out for change again:
Let no life shrink, let justice grow,
Let kindness shape the paths we go.
Let how we walk and how we stand,
Be softened by each other’s hand.
Human rights, not gifts, not gold,
But freedoms every soul should hold:
The right to breathe a fearless breath,
The right to live a life past death.
And when we rise as one strong song,
The world will know we waited long.
But now we speak, we will not cease
Until the earth learns how to peace.
