The World Is Burning
I had a dream of gasoline splashed all across my heart.
I looked up to see your smoldering eyes.
The fires of desire start with just a little spark.
Don’t know why I should be so surprised.
The world is burning! Everything is turning all around!
My heart is yearning for something that just cannot be found!
Can I endure the temperature? It’s rising oh, so fast.
I’ve forgotten how to keep my cool.
What I’ve got will burn so hot there’s no way I can last.
And you keep adding fire to the fuel.
The world is burning! Everything is turning all around!
My heart is yearning for something that just cannot be found!
I can see incendiary rockets flying high.
They explode in thunder and a flash.
And all around me, on the ground the heat intensifies
Until my heart is nothing more than ash.
The world is burning! Everything is turning all around!
My heart is yearning for something that just cannot be found!
So, I choose the burning fuse, an ending to the game.
I don’t know how long I can withstand.
Still, I see you look at me, another open flame.
Another match you hold there in your hand!
The world is burning! Everything is turning all around!
My heart is yearning for something that just cannot be found!
