The World Ends Today

The World Ends Today?

By Elton Camp

Well, the day of doom is finally here
The one that has millions in fear

I hear a loud, rumbling sound
And a light shaking of the ground

I wonder if I have been mistaken
More careful notice should’ve taken

Nope, I guess the world may remain
For it is only the passing of the train

I sure hope the end isn’t coming today
But, if so, then these bills I needn’t pay

As to those leaves in my front yard
Getting them up was gonna be hard

So if the Mayas made no mistake
I needn’t even get out the rake

The fiscal cliff we can forget
If nobody’s around to be hit

Let the taxes raise to the sky
Won’t matter if all are to die

The Mayas may be right, but I doubt it
If they are, we’ll soon know about it

I look out the window, tremble & shake
As I wonder what sound it’ll make
