The Words I Didn’t Say
I wish I’d said, "I see you, I know,"
when your spirit felt heavy, and you felt as though you could no longer go on.
In moments when life felt chaotic and moments were calm,
I forgot to cherish the love in plain sight.
I wish I’d said, "Forgive me, I’m flawed,"
when the weight of my faults seemed almost a fraud.
In the grace of your patience, in the space of your care,
I failed to voice the thanks that was always there.
