The Word of the Shepherd
The director of my life continually
shepherd’s me each step of my way
directing guiding and pointing ahead
no matter the time night and day
My shepherd is God’s holy word
being my wisdom and divine insight
showing the way that I must walk
keep me in step shining His light
This shepherd of mine keeps me strong
giving encouragement from holy writ
lifts me up when I am cast down
spurring me on to be spiritually fit
The Lord God Himself shepherds me
as He’s the shepherd of His sheep
taking great care for my good
so His blessing I would indeed reap
