The Word Keeper

collector of words
The word keeper
Although absurd
A daytime sleeper

Pick pocketing quotes
Reading again and again
On language she dotes
Blank paper and pen

Tuning you out
Without recognition
A jarring shout
When she finds the ignition

No harsh intentions
With all do respect
Too many extensions
For her to neglect

Wheels are spinning
Misplaced the remote
Her heart is grinning
From the lines she wrote
