The Wonders of Nature

Sitting here in the woods, this is what I see
Lush green trees, and thick brown trunks, all surrounding me
I see the flowers, pink and white, colors so pastel
The petals shining in the sun, with leaves as smooth as jell
I see the grass below my feet, a bold hue of green
A tiny squirrel running by, claws so small yet keen
A bright blue sky, above my head, not a cloud in sight
The sun up high, sweet and kind, lending me its light

But wonders can also be revealed by hearing through my ear
Let me tell you some special sounds that nature has to hear
The birds are singing in the trees, further than I can see
The water tapping through the night, a sound so bold and free
I hear the leaves, up in the limbs, moving with the breeze
Resting in their comfy home up in the branches of the trees

Other senses bring treasures too, I'll tell you what I feel
A smooth, free gust of wind, with a calm, relaxing appeal
I feel the dirt under my hands, a soft yet firm touch
There's other textures over here, like itchy grass and such
I hard, firm rock, and the trunk of a green tree
I walk around and I embrace the senses given to me

Value your senses, treasure the wonders that nature provides for you
Listen carefuly, look closely, for wonders are never few
Nature is calming, with treasures unfolding, the wonders, they can heal
The beauty, astounding the plants, freely growing, it almost seems unreal
