The Woman Wisdom
Lady Wisdom shouts in the streets
and cries out in the public square
telling the crowds along Main Street
to run from evil’s deadly snare.
“How long will you remain as fools
and find delight in your mocking?
Listen to me, come to my school
Or your life’s end will be shocking.”
Those who are foolish fight the facts
and invent schemes to skirt the rules.
They then try to cover their tracks
and boast that rules are only for fools.
Listen to her, she’ll make you wise
Wisdom’s ways add joy to your days.
Those who are wise in their own eyes
often end up with their minds crazed.
Embrace her as you would your wife
Wisdom’s worth exceeds earthly measures,
In her right hand, she offers life
in her left, honor and treasures.
Wisdom leads down delightful ways
Her gifts will satisfy your soul.
Wisdom’s ways lead to length of days
Embrace her, she will make you whole.
If you want to know who I am,
Before you will follow my script
Be assured, I am not a sham
I am God’s Spirit typified.
