The Woman Who Knew

She had great beauty Was well educated She knew her calling early Prepared herself for the day she would meet the Prince of Peace. Had seen it in a dream Even her mother had known her daughter was destined to a will of God's own She had the stamina to succeed. But she knew it would be A difficult road to walk in a time where women were treated as servant class folks and were not allowed to speak in public. Miriam of Magdala was her real name Came from a sea port, Magdala by the Sea of Galilee, thus her name She was known as Mary Magdalene. She was well to do and helped the less fortunate She was no prostitute but she spoke out, thus sealed her reputation as a women of easy virtue. She knew what was the role of women She devoted herself to Jesus and the healing of women She suffered for standing up. By CarolineCecile copyright © 07.10.11

beautifully shaped profile of a much misunderstood woman, it is never too late to look at history and life differently, kind of proves that there is no absolute truth as long as there is subjectivity, faith rules the heart and soul, thanks for your wonderul share, love, Bill

Dear Caroline, there is far more to Mary Magdalene than most people know, and not just the revelations in the DaVinci Code. Indeed, she was not a prostitute, but an ardent believer and follower of Christ. So glad you posted this enlightening piece, my friend. Bless you! Love,Carolyn
