The Woes of a Man, a Young Man
It's hard to sit and listen
to the one you love
talk about someone they love...
and it's not you.
It's hard to be a good friend
to someone you wish were more.
You wish you were more
than that friend they see you as.
It's hard to see their words
about the one they desire
typed out on a screen, you desire
it was you they were describing.
It's hard to NOT cry
when you think of how bad you want him
how bad he wants another him
and that other him isn't you.
It's hard to NOT love him
When you've know him for so long
And although he knew you for so long
He'd rather fall for someone he'd just met.
It's hard to NOT think about
the love, the bitter-sweet tears
Yes, he caused those tears
but you still love him.
It's hard to forget him
It's easy to remember
Yes, don't you remember
How you loved him so?
It's hard to be that man
who likes his same kind
Who's reject by human-kind
For an instinct he cannot help.
It's hard to do a lot of things
Some things are hard to do
But one thing that is easy to do
is loving you.
