The woe of the rain

Told of sunshine the moon waits
Chasing a love that will never take
A heart so full it would burst before it could ever break
Continuing it's orbit no matter how long it might take

Ah how I wish humans could be like this
True love and devotion after the first kiss
Memories and lovely smiles unknowing that anything is amiss

Then off they sneak to another's room
In another's arms they sing that caring tune
On another day they return before walking away

One like this they will never stay
And all the forsaken lover can feel is shame
Because used and abandoned and abused they still call his name

Childhood innocence slowly peels away
Adulthood slips in within a day
And you're forced to change

Your hair never sits quite the same way
And your smile starts to feel more fake
As you wonder how much more you can truly take

And in the rumination of a quite night
You close your eyes and try to escape the fight
But no matter how hard you try the tears escape and you start to cry

Standing in a window sill
Looking down at a world all too still
You take a breath and wish to fly
A leap of faith and you wonder if the loyal moon would also choose to die

Then on another part of the world
One who could have one day been yours
Never gets to meet the sun to their moon
Never gets to hear your heart's tune
In you devotion they never got to imbue
Because you chose to be the rain and fall
Instead of waiting for that who would have loved you most of all
