Notes About The Poem

At least it won't be long now until this is over. This question is: What happens then?l

The Witch and the Warlock

The Witch and the Warlock
By Franklin Price

The witch and the warlock
Each run for president
Halloween has come quite early
Their curses have been sent

They vilify each other
That's what it's all about
It's trick or treating time again
Have brought the toilet paper out

Have brought the eggs and soap along
For the Senate and the House
Brought skeletons from closets
And they've cursed each other's spouse

Coming to the voters' doors
Have masks upon their faces
Makes them most unworthy
And as candidates disgraces

When this Halloween is over
And November's vote is done
Will it be the witch or warlock?
Which one's curses will have won?

No matter who's the winner
Witch or warlock in this fuss
I hope in the end it is a treat
Not a trick that ends on us

I'm with you on that. Nicely expressed. Love the analogy of the witch and the warlock, that is perfect.

So glad you liked it. I'm afraid our country may be haunted for quite some time.
