The Wishing Well
When I was only ten years old
I stumbled across a wishing well
"What?, It could happen"
Now hush, I have a story to tell
Anyway, I was only ten years old
And saw this thing sticking out of the ground
"Now remember?, I'm only ten years old"
So I just had to see what I had found
So I ever so carefully approached it
"Did I mention How fast I could run?"
"Most people run because they have too
But see I only run for fun"
"Sorry, sometimes I get carried away"
Anyway, I saw it was a well for wishin'
And I wished I'd brought my fishin pole
So I could have done some fishin'
When out of the blue, a puff of smoke
"Now, cigarettes is hazardous your health,
So I not talking about that kind of smoke,
But the Genie kind that brings you wealth"
Now I couldn't hardly believe my eyes
From out of no where, it just appeared
For laying on the ground beside me
Was my fishing pole and all my gear
I knew right then without a doubt
That I'd found me quite a treasure
The only thing left to decide
Was to use it for harm or for pleasure
Now there was a lady who lived next door
Who would always fuss and complain
She'd never give back my baseball
And she caused me so much pain
So I wished the lady was fat and ugly
And as hidieous as could be
I didn't think of the consenquences
I mean, what would it matter to me
Well the years flew by and I met this girl
I'm telling you, there wasn't anyone hotter
I'm sure you've figured it out by now
I married that ugly lady's daughter
Well that's the story of the wishing well
And everything I told you is true
That ugly old hag is my mother-in-law
I'm not laughing so neither can you
