The Wish
The Wish
Or, so you wish you were thinner,
But some would wish to be thicker,
you always wanted to be brighter
Lord why I was not faster
But really I wish I was richer
And cooler
And prettier
And why can’t I be bolder
Many wish for better jobs
Wish they had stayed in school
Ah wish my parents had money boy
I always wanted to be a dancer
So one stands in this lonely place
And see all who made something of themselves
And I stand here ‘wishing’ it was me
But the only wish that ever come true
Was the wish that I made that people will see
the essence of the true ME.
And yuh know what?
They did see!!!
They see all the flaws
And they see the job I did not get
The money and fame that I don’t have
They see the education I did not take
And they say they wish I did
It is then I started to see all the world's flaws
So my new wish for all of “we” is that we will just “be”
And really show them ‘Who we be’
I can’t run no faster, and I can’t be no prettier than I already is,
we don't need to be thinner, some can't get any fatter,
and I can't be more beautiful inside cause i already AM,
but I certainly don’t need d world to accept me for "who I is" or the
Beauty that I be
because my WISH came true
the wish to be ME.
BOY I real SATISFIED WITH D ME, that I CAME TO BE.
