The Winter Blahs

The sky opened up and suddenly, snow begins to fall quickly, the large snowflakes jump from the sky and start to pile up on the ground, quickly covering whatever is in it's path, including people and cars The windshield wipers can't keep up, even on high the thought of just going back home crosses my mind Winter is not my favorite season, but the beauty of the layer of white that covers the world is not lost on me Cold hits me in the face as I leave my warm car and the beauty fades a bit as walking on slick surfaces reminds me why Winter makes me grumpy I don't like being cold, the beautiful snow makes even walking hard to do. Can we just fast forward to Spring? The wind blows and the cold, wet snow hits me in my face and I sigh and try not to grumple as I get inside as fast as I can without falling on my face.

Awwn dear poetic soul, i can feel your need and longing to fast forward to spring and where everything will be bright and warm and easy to navigate. I really love the imagery here and how descriptive your poem is and how it flows with such sincere emotions and feelings! Pleasure reading your poem, hope it isnt too cold where you are at right now. Dear Kathleen, Oh, how I felt every flake and frozen gust in your poem! I love how you captured winter’s beauty and burdens so perfectly, its shimmering wonder and its sneaky, slippery trials. I was right there with you, longing for spring. Absolutely loved this! Stay warm, my friend. Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Thank you, Daniel. This poem kind of sounds like a temper tantrum. I am definitely looking forward to spring.

Good one and I am with you on this. Today had to run in to our church and clean sidewalks and then back home to clean my driveway of wet, slushy ice and snow. Cant wait for spring.
