The Windows of Heaven
THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN
God opened the windows of heaven,
And sent us the Savior one day;
God opened the windows of heaven
To send us His Spirit to stay.
God opens the windows of heaven
When we will obediently give;
His blessings He showers upon us
As onward for Him we will live.
God someday those windows will open
And Jesus will come from the sky
To take all who trust Him to heaven
Where with Him we’ll always be nigh.
God opens the windows of heaven
When I seem in darkness to be;
His light from the portals of Glory
Gives comfort and joy there to me.
God opens the windows of heaven
To give me a poem to write,
The words seem to flow like the raindrops
And help me as battles I fight.
I do not deserve all these blessings
The windows of heaven pour down,
But when God will open them for me
It turns in to smiles my frown.
I know there are many in heaven
Who also through these windows see
And long for the glorious reunion
Forever with them we will be.
Yes, God loves to look through the windows
Of heaven upon us below
When we look back through those windows
And try our love to Jesus show.
The windows of heaven are open
For sinners all lost and astray,
And I am so glad He received ME
When I looked through His window one day!
Now when life seems so lonely and trying,
When clouds seem to fill up the sky,
God still will look through heaven’s window,
Reminding me that He is nigh.
