my eyes are open
no thoughts to disturb the silent space
the mind has become a void
where existence is only a breath
exhaling desolation and cold
I peek through curtains
to find the world alive
filled with noise and motion
the light outside, the dark inside
two worlds separated by a pane of glass
it reveals how thin the distance is
between yesterday and today
it all appears the same, trapped in a darkness
that has finally bloomed like weeds
from a mold that entrenched itself long ago
when I was a frivolous farmer
consuming everything I grew
without care or reservation
not thinking of the dark husks
I left scattered on the empty fields
of my needs
tomorrow haunts me
and it has yet to arrive
I close the curtain
and cry, where no one hears me
