Hi Anne-Lise ,yellow tinged curtains, the house keeper has left - sounds like a mystery, is there perhaps a lonely old person living there who can't maintain the house anymore because he or she is not well enough or has it been abandoned, the woodwork seems grubby and needs a coat of paint, what does the window reflect - such sadness, maybe a key under the stone near the door would clear up everything. So much depth in your senryu, i felt so much reading this. It always is impressive how one can convey and evoke so much through few words, i admire that. A very evocative write this is. Soul stirring and leaves an impression, sadness of whats left behind. Sending you light always

A beautiful senryu that brings both beautiful and sad memories my dear poet friend Anne -Lise. It reminds me of the house of my grandpa who just passed away last week. I hope his house will still be maintained by someone else or by his faithful housekeeper/caregiver even if he's gone. If not, it'll look exactly the same. I love and enjoyed your poem immensely. Sad to see a house that has become abandoned and going to decay. It makes me want to buy it and remodel it and sell to someone who would look after it for another 100 years. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara

Nice haiku. Curtains need cleaning once a while before they get yellow and tarnished.

You have a very good eye for composition, Anne-Lise. I am left wondering who hung those romantic lace curtains and why they've been neglected to hang tattered. Sad thoughts but your photography skill has led me to them. Using the short Senryu form lends itself to the mystery. Hugs.
