Notes About The Poem

The Wind Whispers

The wind whispers against the craggy rock. Its warm breath holding on, precipice-pressed. Heart-pounding mountains echoing the mock. Plummeting eagle in plumes of inquest. Goliath shoulders boost my eyes upward. I do not recall scaling down the rock. A wild ride; ‘somehow, this view left me floored.’ Frozen skyward, where wind tells secrets, shocks. I cling to wet rocks, as my apogee. Wind wraps ‘round whitecaps - life’s no guarantee.

Sometimes I randomly scroll down a poets page and just pick one. I’m sure glad I landed on this. Third line first stanza was the best for me.you are very talented, Kim.

This I feel is a highly metaphoric poem. Against all risks, man has a tendency to look upwards to conquer great heights. Though there is no guarantee of success, man likes to feel that he has reached the zenith. Great entry. All the Best.

Dear Kim, carved from the edge of existence, where wind and stone argue over who will last longer. There’s courage in the way you let the wind speak its secrets, raw, untranslatable, yet utterly human. Amen! Blessings, Daniel

Wow Kim, this is very much metaphoric of life situations sometimes. Holding onto the rock is a good idea! This was so well written, a fave for me.
