The Wind Knows

You'll see the truth
when it comes in on the breeze
      Caught in the
moving winds of time
      Old realities
  pass us by
     and we are suddenly
ready for a
            sea - change
           Deep flagons of
wine
      await us at
journey's end
let's move
      down the path
with a jaunty
   air about us
After all, we have
   just gained self
knowledge
   Like the sun cutting
through the clouds
     Our new songs will
replace the tired old ones
Drink deeply of the fruit of the vine
Laughter is a friend we can count on

Sometimes as we sail on the "winds of time," we need to change direction. Indeed, "Our new songs will replace the tired old ones." Beautifully written and very intuitive message! Love, Carolyn

Love the last line--so true. Nice use of imagery. Enjoyed this one. Keep up the good writing. Karen

It is a real pleasure when someone goes to the trouble of laying out a narrative in order to please the eye. This narrative flows beautifully and has a lovely musical sound to it as well. The dominance of 'O' and 'U' sounds gives the poem a deep and mournful feel; adding a seriousness to the theme. It works well at all levels.

So lovely. You sense what the wind knows, and you have wise words for us all. Such a beautiful last line too. Love, Shar

That's great; it's light, lively, and metaphoric. Good job!
