The Wild Gourmet

Ask him and he will tell you that snake and frog taste just like chicken. On the whole if grilled, crickets, locusts, grubs and earth worms all taste petty much like chicken. Coyote, water rats and porcupine when sautéed with arrow leaf and fennel almost duplicate the texture and flavor of fried chicken. Sea slugs stuffed with gecko eggs make an elegantly complex concoction so redolent of chicken, but then ask him and he will also tell you that he does not care much - for chicken.

Your works, for the most part, are serious and moody, but this one made me laugh. Great wit.

Thanks for the comment Lawrence, frivolity and just plain silliness come to me more often then you suppose. My next poem might be dire though :-) e
