The White Roses Died With You
Eighteen years ago today, the white roses died with you
My strength was taken with sudden gasps for air
The purity of what we shared, the cold wind blew
Straight from earth like lightening, far, far away
The black crows called over your grave in dismay
How could my life go on with a tragedy so unfair?
Doom greeted me in mornings of a nightmare that is real
I stumbled around, trying to find balance moving ahead
There was not a soul anywhere who could know how I feel
It was me against the world, staggering through the dark
Facts ripping pain through my heart, shadows strikingly stark
So, with prayers I traveled on many trips to your grave I fled
