The Weight of Guilt

Guilt is a heavy load 
     A conscience can only carry
                  For so long
      Before it collapses under 
     It's unwieldy encumbrance
       A pressure on the lungs
     Pushing out air, threatening 
    To smother and deflate them
          Completely of oxygen
