The Week-End

The Week-End
By Franklin Price
11/2/2015

The week-end now is over
Halloween is done
Trick or Treaters gone
The hours turned back one

The Autumn rain is falling
Clouds blocking out the sun
Looking out the window
Think the frogs are having fun

Don't mind much that it's Monday
Not working any more
Been retired for awhile now
Don't have to open up the door

I find I have a problem
With most days of the week
A lot feel like they're Saturday
The day I used to seek

For those that are retired
And say they miss their days at work
I really can't relate to you
Work for me is not a perk

I'm glad there's no alarm clock
Buzzing loudly in my ear
No rush in getting ready
Hope I make my feelings clear

Can make my day just what I want
Here's the latest news
I've got to stop this writing now
And start my honey-do's
