The Wedding Rehearsal

She and mirror had a chat
dreams and hopes flitted past
vainly smiled and said goodbye
brides here are fully covered
Veiled for life...

Afroze Ali

(Some brides from remote parts of India are covered head to toe, red veils reaching their chins and they are supposed to veil themselves every time a man is around. Ridiculous, but true)
