The Wedding

A country chapel
in the Fall
Down the aisle
she walks
There’s nervousness
in her chest
His smile
puts her at rest
For years
it’s been just talk
hopes and dreams
they sought
Her raised veil
reveals a smile
She knows
the time
has been
worthwhile
Their “I do”s
flow out
with love
An exchange
of rings
to wear
til the end
of time
A way of saying
I am yours
and you are mine
Until the end of time
I want you
to always
be mine
