The Waves

The waves in the ocean,
The waves in time.
Waves in my emotion
Are seldom sublime.
Delicately they flow
Without being hurried,
Confidently the know,
Then off they scurry.
But I ride them strong
And I ride them proud.
Like the words of a song
That I sing too loud.
I look at everyone in the room
Who can hear me.
Their hearts can't be won.
I feel like they fear me.
I want to shut up
Or should I sing on?
To find who'll put up
With my wavering song.
