Notes About The Poem

The Wave of a Magic Fan

I caught a glimpse of a sunrise.
Pale magenta cast by the sun on gray skies
The cool air of early morn seemed to be my prize.
The creamy white blossoms on moon flower did apprise.

I did not want to go back inside.
Chores faced me there besides.
Life should be more appealing.
Like seeing the small things in life come alive

The kitchen needed some cleaning.
Breakfast needed my hand.
If only it could be handled by screening
Or by the wave of a magic fan

This is exactly how I too feel. When I am lost in the beauty of nature, I don't want to go in when household chores pull me hard. Enjoyed reading your poem Sara.

Jack, I know at times you wish for a magic fan or wand or a fairy to come do all your chores. Thanks for the visit. Sara

Yes, the wave of a magic fan, akin to the wrinkle of a bewitched nose, giving the kitchen the back of your hand! Ole, gw

Yes, some days I feel like that, Gershon. Thanks for the visit and the nice review of my work. I wouldn't want to become a witch to get it done like that though. Sara

I would call it "The calling of a House Wife"

TS, Yes, it could be the calling of a housewife. Sometimes I try to think that today I will not listen to the call. Your visit was inspiring. Sara

I really love how you’ve written this, especially your opening lines “ pale magenta cast by the sun on grey skies” beautiful, and the ending is so good. Today i saw the sunrise too, usually love sunsets but sunrise too is stunning. How it reflects on the sea. Appreciating little things before we get on with other things, sometimes can make our day. Loved this

Sara, the pale magenta cast on gray skies comes alive and beckons me . There is something sacred about the early morning before chores and breakfast . It is a time to appreciate the creamy white blossoms and the simple pleasures. Loved this ! Hugs, Susan :)

Magenta sunrise--creamy white blossoms on moon flower. A sight that dreams are made of. No wonder you didn't want to go back in, yet. A lovely write, Sara.

Why, thank you, Vijay. I still don't want to go back even though it is heating up out there. The morning cool air would be fine with that fine foggy mist rising off the creek. Sara

Oh my, such a breathtaking sunrise inspired write this is dear.. I can definitely feel these emotions.. When nature's beauty makes us awestruck and we wish to hault in the moment and actually absorb its every essence within our heart's every cell.. "Pale magenta cast by the sun on gray skies", "the cool air of early morn seemed to be my prize" Definitely it is.. "The creamy white moonflower" Wow.. Purely magical :)
