The Waterfall of Deceit

The water flowed down into the semi dark ravine
Where prolific verdant ferns adorned the shaded scene.
Low light cast a ghostly glow over the surroundings
Increasing the sensation of my heart heavy poundings.
It was our lonely meeting place, now full of throes.
Listen, the roar of the water gave me no repose.
Beneath the waterfall I stood feeling the slight breeze
Hoping the humid air, my wounded heart might appease.
A few restraint tears fell like the water down the cliff,
Despite the water spray I still felt rigid, angry and stiff.
Learn must I to let the water flow
And stop thinking of lost love, my woe.
Wearily I tread the cold water with bare feet
Hoping to find serenity in that river of deceit.
