The water flowed down into the semi dark ravine Where prolific verdant ferns adorned the shaded scene. Low light cast a ghostly glow over the surroundings Increasing the sensation of my heart heavy poundings. It was our lonely meeting place, now full of throes. Listen, the roar of the water gave me no repose. Beneath the waterfall I stood feeling the slight breeze Hoping the humid air, my wounded heart might appease. A few restraint tears fell like the water down the cliff, Despite the water spray I still felt rigid, angry and stiff. Learn must I to let the water flow And stop thinking of lost love, my woe. Wearily I tread the cold water with bare feet Hoping to find serenity in that river of deceit.

Great imagery and the sad emotions. It is strange that after a loss we also get very angry because the lost one is gone. Hugs Eve

Amidst the lovely, majestic scenery, sadness and the memory of loss is prevalent. Masterfully written, Victor. Best wishes, Evelyn

Always a beautiful journey through your poem, Victor-- though this one is a bit melancholy. Love the way you weave your words to let the poem speak boldly of the emotions it evokes.

Great poem, dear Victor; even though it's sad, it is necessary for survival, like you said in the last stanza. And this sorrow will raise your spirits, and you will comb the shore for seeps of water-filled pebbles. Have a great day, dearest Friend
