The Wanting

Teach me please, I want to learn,
About the things for which I yearn.
Understand my driving force,
Learn to love without remorse.

I need to think before I act,
Foot in my mouth, a well known fact.
Guidance, tuition, in all that I do,
Not swallow the lies and forget what’s true.

I need to feel and see what I need,
Understand it and take it without greed.
Build myself a much better me,
Recognise the good in me that others see.

I wish for lots, but don’t want much,
The hands gesture of a gentle touch.
True to life I wish to be,
Confident and giving, a spirit that’s free.
