The Waning of Eden
If you walked in the Garden of Eden
Could you celebrate its diversity?
Colours and shades of differing hues
All mingling seamlessly.
If you envisaged mankind’s distinctions
As shrubs and gorgeous flowers
Races and creeds as diverse as the leaves
Would you smile or simply cower?
If you were given the Wisdom of Solomon
Could you sort what’s right from wrong?
Stop hatred and killing, and all unforgiving
Make all humanity know that each belongs.
Now imagine being a King of this world
What differences should you make?
Grasp at and seize deciding what’s weeds
Remember harmony is at stake.
Conceive our Eden has started to wilt
Condemned by the judgement of man
Casters of stones as if to atone
While angels weep, at mans mistaken plans.
