The Wanderer

The Wanderer By: Aidan Gilbert People say time ticks faster than it’s allowed I say we walk too slow People say stop to enjoy every moment I say some moments aren’t worth stopping for Everyone says the storm already passed That just means I’m following it Everyday black and grey It’s all the same I don’t know which road I lost my soul Probably lost it before I started this journey People say death brings sorrow I say it brings happiness because that’s when you finally get your freedom I ain’t know mistake in life Just the sad thing it coughed up This world is my jail time It locked me up for wanting innocence I am not allowed to pray for a better time Because these bad times are the only times I am allowed There ain’t no sunshine in Hell! Just me wandering Wandering aimlessly around

Actually, I'm going to store your poem in my "favorite poems" page here at PS if you don't mind. It's the kind that 1 reading is not enough, and one goes back to read it all over again

I like some lines which speak to me personally - the 1st 6 lines actually. The rest of it seem so despairing, you seem to give no sense of life ever giving hope of getting any better - no sunshine, innocence lost - the reasons for being a wanderer. Though for me, wandering is a kind of adventure. Thanks for the post.
