The Vultures Grin

The Vulture's Grin

Beguiled are the victims of his sin..
Welcome, welcome to the Vulture's Grin.
With handsome looks and effortless charm..
Don't be fooled.. it's all part of the harm.

He claims he wears his heart on his sleeve..
But that's just another way to deceive.
For behind that smile so polished and bright..
Lurks a bitter soul that thrives in the night.

The lies will flow.. he's mastered the art..
Of gaining your trust before tearing apart.
Behind closed doors where no one can see..
You'll find yourself trapped with no chance to flee.

What's his is his; he'll never share..
He'll drain you dry without a care.
The promises made are merely a guise..
A web of distortion, deceit, and lies.

As he ruffles his feathers and feeds on your soul..
It won't be long till he swallows you whole.
And once he's taken all he can gain..
He'll cast you aside without guilt or shame.

So heed this warning and don't be fooled..
He's arrogant, heartless, and viciously cruel.
Turn and run fast while you still can..
The Vulture's Grin is his master plan.

Impressive. Flows well and never ran out of steam. We know all about vultures this side of the ditch. they swooped in after the Christchurch earthquakes and have never left. Left Christchurch in 88 but Family and friends had stories to tell of vultures in the air and sharks in the water. Posted poem called "what have you done to me". We have a wallaby problem here now. They are just starting to put their meat in pies. Do they do that your side of ditch. Best regards David in NZ

Really enjoyed your poem, especially the line: He’s gained your trust, now the games will start. And l loved this line: Ruffling his feathers while he picks at your soul… I can picture an old, nasty vulture picking at the carrion on the side of the road. Very well done!
