The Voice In the Night
The Voice in the Night
Endless desperation, she cries through the night
Has she lost this battle, without a fight?
Thunder rattles the windows, a deafening roar
Who is knocking upon her door?
She peeps through the hole, cautiously
No one is there, that she can see
Voices in her head will not go away
“I have come for you, your soul to take!”
Hiding in the closet, shaking like a leaf
A voice states firmly, “This is your destiny!”
“Please, not now, just go away!”
She begs for mercy, “Give me one more day?”
“One more day,” Ha, an atrocious laugh
“You are not worthy, you can’t have that.”
Crying and pleading, begging in fear
“GOD, can you help me? I need you here”
In that instant, she awakes from her dream
Filled with fear, with a sigh of relief
A promise she makes to God
“I will change my life.”
“I hope I never again hear, the voice in the night.”
