The Voice

I never saw her face,
but I could hear her voice.

She spoke of rain as if
it was God's way of re-painting
the world. It was a new canvas
in which we could live.
A deep and subtle miracle
that fell and swept away
the dirt of the past.

But,
before my feet
could carry this lonely
soul around the corner
and introduce my heart
to hers

               ....She was gone
