The Visit

On Sunday night you came to my home; I welcomed you in, with a warm “Shalom”. I cooked you a meal of Chicken Pad Thai; You said you loved it, and you wouldn’t lie. We told some good stories, and shared delicious wine; To tell you the truth, it was perfectly divine. We began our marathon of The Walking Dead, Cuddled up close; your arm behind my head. In the morning I felt so truly blessed, When you grabbed a skillet, and made me breakfast! You fried up some eggs, and made custom Chai Tea; We curled up together, and watched a movie. Even though it was hard, the time had come; You had to get back to the place you were from. Your sweet bear-hug concluded this perfect day, As you told me, “Next time you should come my way.”
