The Vintage Volkeswagen Beetle
The vintage Volkeswagen Beetle
was stored in the barn forgotten
and covered with dead bugs,
a resting place for many years,
which gave grandma lots of tears.
After grandpa passed away,
she drove the Beetle into the barn,
a forever resting place for the car,
forgetting all the memories they shared,
when they loved and always cared.
In her will grandma left me her four wheels,
I was happy because of my age,
being sixteen and learning to drive,
it meant that I could fix it up like brand new,
making it shiny and looking its true blue.
The years have passed and my kids drive,
around in the aged Volkeswagen Beetle,
driving to school and all other places,
learning to stick shift like racing pros,
remembering to clutch with their toes.
