The Victory

Just look at what they've done to Him
Why did this have to be
I did not think they'd let them come
I loved Him don't you see

Why'd He let do it to Him
Did it really have to be
Why did He die at Calvary
I thought this day I'd never see

He told me it would happen
Just how it would go down
He came to die for all of us
So that we would be unbound

I did not think it possible
How could this all be true
A week ago they praised Him as their King
Now whatever shall I do

But wait I hear some knocking
I wonder just who it can be
Well it's our two dear Mary's
Who love Him just like me

They say He's alive, how can that be true?
Why just three days before
They nailed Him to that rugged cross
They speared Him I am sure

It must be a dream I'm seeing
How can this possibly be
My Lord is here a standing
Right in front of me

I should have had more faith in Him
I should have just believed
That He would rise up from the grave
To win the victory

The King of kings is every present
But saying we must wait
To get a gift from Him
That comes from heavens gate

Oh what a blessing I've been given
His Spirit inside me
I want to spread this news abroad
To everyone I see

Now He's arisen from the grave
He's won the victory
He broken down the gates of death
To set the captives free

Believe in Him let Him know you
Things He's done for others
Soon can happen for you then too
You'll know Him like me.
