The Value of Clocks

Clocks Remind us How fast Our lives pass Clocks Throw numbers In our faces Seconds and minutes Clocks We glance at them In the beginning of the day And often at the end of our work day Clocks Always keeping track Re-arranging our day Without fail Clocks Always watching Keeping time Reminding us Our constant

I always loved antique clocks until I worked in an office; if anything will sicken you of clock watching; it's sitting behind a desk doing nothing all day while the, should've-been-retired-5-years-ago-76 year old boss piles work and overtime upon herself just so she'll look needed. Now that I work for myself; I'm taking that second look at antique clocks. Great poem.

Great poem, my friend! ;) Clocks are definitely one of those things I take for granted... despite the fact that I rely on them daily (as I seem to have no internal awareness of the passing of time)!

I get up in the middle of the night sometimes thinking I have overslept my 6 am. alarm and guess what? it is 1:30 or 2:00 am.

Hi Caren, I reset all of my clocks this morning, except the one in the car. It is old fashioned. -Richard

I completely understand, Richard. One of my daughters will ride in my car in the summer and re-set that one because it will drive them crazy. Time means little to me at all.
