The unrequited dream

You showed that you will not open for me,
Again!
Maybe, it never was meant to be!

Yet, it hurts,
Because I think
I loved you too much —
Beyond the fact that
You can never love me back!

Goodbye, old friend!
Although I am letting you go,
Please let it be known
I will love you forever!

You were my first and
Safest abode,
And I will always
remember you
As the one
That never was,
What I thought it would be!

Anyways,
one day I might realise
That this is how it was
Meant to be!

Still, I grieve
The idea that it all was —
A dream!
